Shamli: Farmers staged a protest at the sugar mill complex on Thursday, demanding payment of outstanding dues worth Rs 214 crore from the previous season, reported Amar Ujala.
Officials, including the unit head Pradeep Sallar and responsible officers from the sugar mill, engaged in discussions with the protesting farmers upon their arrival at the site. The officials assured the farmers of promptly organizing a meeting with the mill owners to address their concerns. Subsequently, the farmers concluded their demonstration.
On Thursday, under the leadership of farmer leader Sanjeev Shastri Lilon, the farmers initiated a protest outside the administrative office of the sugar mill.
