Shamli: The Shamli sugar mill officials have agreed to clear pending cane dues to the farmers by September 21, reports Live Hindustan.
The decision was taken during the meeting of the RLD leaders and the mill officials.
Following directives from Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) Supremo and Union Minister Jayant Singh, a party delegation visited the Shamli sugar mill to protest the non-payment of sugarcane dues to farmers for the past two years. The delegation expressed their discontent over the delayed payments.
The RLD leaders also had an hour-long meeting with the mill management during the protest. Mill officials assured that all pending payments for the current season would be cleared by August 26 and those about the 2022-23 season by September 21.
