Shamli: Shamli sugar mill (Also known as Upper Doab sugar mill) would start cane crushing operations from 20-25 October, said unit head Sushil Chaudhari, reports Amar Ujala.
The mill has applied to the banks for a loan amounting to Rs 40 crore to clear the cane dues of farmers. If the mill fails to get a loan it would clear the cane bills of farmers that have sent their cane till January 31 and if the loan is approved, it would clear all the pending cane dues of farmers soon.
Every year we take up the work of maintenance of the sugar mill and we have made provision of Rs 6 crore for the same, said Chaudhari stating about the rumors of repair work of the sugar mill.
“We are taking steps to reduce the breakdown of the mill during cane crushing operations,” he added.
