Beed: Even after two month of commencement of crushing, sugar mills have not paid the single installment of FRP to farmers in Beed district, following which Shetkari Sangharsh Samiti staged demonstration at regional joint director for sugar commissionerate office under the leadership of Bhai Gangabhishan Thavre.
The rule mandates that FRP amount should be deposited to the farmers’ bank accounts within 14 days after the sugarcane harvest is handed over to the factory owners, but millers in the district failed to do so.
FRP is the amount fixed by the government for avoiding monetary loss to the farmers.
Shetkari Sangharsh Samiti has demanded and warned millers to pay FRP and previous year arrears immediately.
