Kolhapur : Farmers Leader and former MP Raju Shetty has demanded that sugarcane farmers should get additional Rs 400 more with final cane payment on the lines of Karnataka farmers, according to etvbharat.
If government fails to accept this demand then we will not allow the sugar mills to start operations this season, he said.
Addressing a press conference, the Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatna leader said, the input costs have been increased by 22% but the government has not hiked the FRP taking note of this, he said.
We will be organising a morcha at the office of divisional sugarcane office on September 13 to press for our demand, he said.
