Jalandhar, Punjab: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has raised pending cane arrears issue and demanded that the Punjab government should clear arrears on a priority basis.
According to the media report, Senior SAD leader and Nakoda MLA Gurpratap Singh Wadala said that the government should take immediate steps to clear pending cane arrears. The government has failed to clear the arrears.
He said, “The farmers are facing financial distress due to the lockdown and the delay in cane payments has increased their financial problems. They don’t have funds to meet their daily needs and support their families.”
