NSI has dedicated its new product to the feet of Lord Rama and named it Shriram Madhuryam. It is a special sugar that has been developed after many years of research. Professor Narendra Mohan, Director of the National Sugar Institute in Kanpur, mentions that the use of Shriram Madhuryam sugar will not increase the blood sugar level and will improve health. This sugar is rich in Vitamin A and is named after Lord Ram in view of the Pran Pratistha ceremony in Ayodhya. The low-calorie, low GI, and liquid sugar containing Vitamin A aim to meet the market demand in preventing night blindness, skin diseases, and other ailments caused by Vitamin A deficiency. Anushka Aggarwal Kanodia, Senior Research Fellow, Sugar Technology, under the direction of Professor Narendra Mohan, Director of NSI, mentions that the recipe for this liquid sugar, developed after five years of research, has been launched by NSI in January. Monier Research Fellow Anushka highlights that its low glycemic index ensures a slow increase in blood sugar levels, making it a suitable option for those concerned about diabetes.
