Siddhesh Ramdas Kadam appointed as Maharashtra Pollution Control Board chief

Siddhesh Kadam, son of former state minister and Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam, has been appointed as new chairman of the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board.

In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Government of Maharashtra has announced the removal of A. L. Jarhad from the position of Chairman of the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB). The decision comes after a prolonged absence of Jarhad from his duties without any stated reason. In his place, Siddhesh Ramdas Kadam has been nominated to lead the MPCB for the remainder of the term.

This move is in accordance with the powers granted under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, and the Maharashtra Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Rules, 1983. The government’s notification emphasizes the need for consistent leadership in the MPCB to address the pressing issues of water pollution and environmental challenges.

The MPCB plays a crucial role in the implementation of environmental standards and the promotion of sustainable practices across Maharashtra.

The official order was issued by Suryakant K. Nikam, Joint Secretary to the Government, underscoring the administration’s commitment to effective governance and environmental conservation.
