Dehradun: The Sitarganj sugar mill will start cane crushing operations before the commencement of the next crushing season. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat held the meeting to review the status of the mill and asked the officials to make out a plan to ensure that mill starts operation from next season.
Rawat asked the officials to get the assistance of experts and a technical team to revive the sugar mill.
The mill has stopped operations since 2017 and the farmers are demanding the revival of the mill since then.
Addressing the meeting Rawat said, “ Our foremost policy should be the interest of the farmers. The revival of the sugar mill will help farmers as well as help in generating employment.”
