Colombo: The Consumer Affairs Authority conducted a raid and arrested two suspects for possessing a sugar stock of 10,000 kg which is unfit for human consumption.
The action was taken after receiving a tip-off from the Western Provincial Intelligence Division when the sugar was being transported from Pettah to Kalmunai.
The suspects have been released on bail as per the Authority Act and the seized sugar has been sealed. The officials stated that they are investigating the case in detail.
