ChiniMandi: Sugar industry requires heavy metals for the machines which turn cane sugar into purified white sugar. These metals go through rapid wear & tear and corrosion which can affect the quality of sugar causing difficulties in growth of sugar business.
A technical study supported by Jindal Stainless Ltd along with JP Mukherjee & Associates, a global sugar industry consultant has concluded stainless steel to be the best workable material for sugar industry purpose.
This joint study was conducted to understand the issues and recommend the best material for sugar equipment. The study was released on Monday at the annual convention of Sugar Technologists’ Association of India at Indore.
Speaking on the release of study, Managing Director, Jindal Stainless, Mr. Abhyuday Jindal said, “Corrosion, the biggest challenge in the sugar industry can be easily countered with stainless steel. This report reiterates the strengths of stainless steel as a low maintenance and corrosion free.”
