Mysuru: The state government is neglecting the problems of the sugarcane farmers, said Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) state unit head Badagalapura Nagendra, reports The Times of India.
He has written to the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai expressing displeasure over the state government’s attitude towards cane farmers and urged him to come forward to rescue them.
For the last seven months, cane farmers have been demanding the government to announce the state advisory price for sugarcane but the government has failed to meet their demands, he alleged.
He complained that despite assuring agitating farmers to address their grievances, CM failed to keep his promise. Farmers from Mandya had launched an indefinite protest on November 7 but the government evicted the protestors to ensure the visit of the Union home minister was not disturbed, he mentioned in his letter.
