State-wise monthly sugar quota for sale in January 2025

In a order released on December 31, the Food Ministry allocated a monthly sugar quota of 22.5 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) for January 2025 to 575 mills, which is lower than the quantity allocated in January 2024.

In January 2024, the government had allocated a monthly sugar quota of 23 LMT for domestic sale.

For December 2024, the government allocated a sugar quota of 22 LMT.

According to market experts, due to good demand, the domestic market is likely to remain in a positive zone as the season progresses, with less oversupply.
