Puducherry: The Chief Minister of Puducherry, N Rangasamy, announced on Monday that the government is taking steps to revitalize the defunct sugar mill in Lingareddipalayam. This revitalization effort will be carried out through public-private partnerships (PPP), reported The Hindu.
The Chief Minister made this announcement while participating in an event organized by the Cooperative Departmt, where he emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening the cooperative sector in the Union Territory.
“When our government took office, the cooperative societies were facing severe difficulties, and even paying salaries was a struggle,” Rangasamy said. “We have addressed the salary issues in 75% of these societies. Now, we are focusing on reviving the mills in Lingareddipalayam and Thirubhuvanai by partnering with private entities.”
