Karnal: Newly sugar mill set up in Karnal will be producing sulphur-free sugar from this season.
With this, the mill will be the first in the state to produce sugar free of sulphur. The trial of the sugar mill was started in April and it will commence the operations as scheduled from the coming crushing season in November.
According to the news report published in Hindustantimes.com, Aditi, managing director of the mill said, “The mill will provide relief to the sugarcane farmers from the region as we have increased the mill’s capacity from 2,200 TCD to 3,500 TCD.”
For the upcoming crushing season, the mill has set a target of crushing 55-lakh quintal sugarcane. During the trials that were conducted in April, the mill had produced 94,460 quintals refined sugar by crushing 10.30 lakh quintal sugarcane, said the mill officials.
