Sugar mill owners will be sent behind the bars: Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow, Apr 22: Sugarcane farmers in Uttar Pradesh hold the key to electoral success or failure of political parties in Lok Sabha election. Parties in the state attacking each other over cane arrears.

Raising questions on the earlier governments’ record on clearing sugarcane farmers dues, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “We promised to pay the dues of sugarcane farmers and we did that, why could not the previous government do the same?

The CM claimed that the previous governments did not pay the sugarcane dues of six years. “After the formation of the BJP government, we paid Rs 64 thousand crores to the farmers in our two years tenure,” he said.

He assured that sugarcane farmers will be paid this season too. “If not, then the sugar mill owners will be sent behind the bars,” he asserted.

He attacked the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party alliance, terming it as a ‘Mahamilavti Gathbandhan’ (adulterated alliance).

Adityanath said that during the tenure of SP, there was ‘hooliganism’ in Bijnor and Moradabad. “Our government eliminated the goons from the state. At that time corruption and chaos were at the peak. Now people are getting sufficient amount of electricity. All this has been possible in our government,” he said.
