Sugar mill polls: Next hearing on candidates nomination rejection tomorrow

Kolhapur: The hearing regarding the rejection of the nominations of 29 candidates in the run-up to the election of the Rajaram Cooperative Sugar Mill of Kasaba Bawada concluded on Tuesday, reports The Times of India.

The election returning officer’s rejection had debarred the candidates from contesting the polls.

The candidates had approached the regional joint director of cooperatives, NV Gade, who is the appellate authority. He conducted the hearing on Tuesday and made Rajaram Sugar Mill a party to the case.

Mohan Salpe, leader of the Patil-led panel said, “The lawyer for the mill sought time to present their case. The arguments will continue on Thursday. We expect a verdict on the same day.”
