Farrukhabad: The District Magistrate inaugurated the crushing session of the only sugar mill in the district on Thursday, but the crushing could not begin due to insufficient supply of sugarcane.
Singh had inaugurated the mill’s crushing season by putting sugarcane in the crusher on Thursday. The next day cane available in mill yard was only 687 quintal whereas 1200 quintal cane is required to run the mill smoothly.
According to the reports, the lack of communication may be the reason behind the non-availability of cane for crushing. The problem will be sorted out soon, said the officials.
