Shamali: The workers of Bajaj sugar mill created a ruckus in the mill premises, accusing the mill administration of exploiting and reducing the Diwali bonus. After the assurance from mill unit head, workers called off their protest. Meanwhile, the work in the mill was halted for two hours.
The farmers are already agitating for their pending dues. The workers allege that the other mills usually give bonus of Rs 16800 during Diwali. But mill had paid Rs 7000 as a bonus in last two years claiming the loss. Workers learnt that this year too mill will give Rs 7000 as a bonus in two installments, following which they launched protest against the mill.
