Lucknow: Amid concerns over coronavirus, there is an increase in sale and demand of sanitizers and masks, leading to a shortage of supply of these products.
Following the threat of Covid-19, the state government has invited people to apply for sanitiser manufacturing online to get approved immediately.
According to the media reports, Sanjay Bhoosreddy, principal secretary, excise and sugar, said, “Considering the demand we expect the shortage of sanitisers. It has been decided that the sugar millers and distilleries apart from any other individual fulfilling certain conditions can get online permission for manufacturing sanitizers.
“The big companies manufacturing sanitisers are facing a shortage of raw material, so if sugar mills or distillers have alcohol with them in abundance then they can provide raw material to sanitizer manufactures. Also if they want they can also go for setting up their own brands to sell in retail.”, he further added.
The total number of novel coronavirus cases in India rose to 415 on Monday including seven deaths. The infected cases are growing rapidly.
The Centre on Monday asked state governments to strictly enforce the lockdown imposed to prevent the spread of coronavirus and directed legal action against violators.
