Budhana, Uttar Pradesh: Officials of the Bhaisana sugar mill assured sugarcane farmers to clear some amount of pending cane dues to the farmers till June 30 after the farmers under the banner of BKU locked the sugarcane department office, reports Amar Ujala.
Farmers had launched indefinite agitation outside the gates of the sugar mills demanding pending cane dues.
After farmers locked the office, the officials of the sugar mill including the vice president of the mill Jangbahadur Tomar and sugarcane manager Shiv Kumar Tyagi met agitating farmers and agreed to clear cane due at the earliest.
Vice President Tomar said that the mill would clear Rs 25 crore by June 30, Rs 48 crore in July, Rs 60 crore in August, Rs 80 crore in September and remaining dues in October.
Farmers stated that if the mill fails to pay Rs 25 crore by June 30, then they will again intensify their agitation.
