Rampur, Uttar Pradesh: Two sugar mills in the region have paid sugarcane dues to farmers before the start of the crushing season, reported Live Hindustan.
Triveni and Bilaspur mills have paid 100% of their sugarcane dues to farmers, while Rana mill has paid 86%. The district administration has issued a notice to Rana mill to pay the remaining 14% by September 30.
District Cane Officer Shailesh Kumar Maurya said that the district’s sugar mills have been ranked in the first category in terms of payment to farmers. Farmers are being provided information about sugarcane weighing through SMS.
