Lucknow: Sugar mills in Uttar Pradesh are performing good in this season. With this, it helped to become the top sugar producing state in the country. Not only in sugar production but even in sugar recovery mills responded well.
In this season, it is expected that mills will continue crushing till the month of May. As per media report, Sugarcane commissioner Sanjay Bhoosereddy said, “This year we have witnessed high sugarcane production and also sugar recovery is good. It seems sugar mills will continue crushing season till the month of May.”
According to the ISMA, till 29th February 2020, 119 sugar mills were operating in the state and they have produced 76.86 lakh tonnes of sugar compared with 73.87 lakh tonnes produced by 117 mills as on 28th February 2019.
