Sugar output drops in Thailand

A new wave of the Covid-19 infections has hit the business activities in Thailand leading to the decline in sugar production. According to Reuters, the industry ministry has stated that the manufacturing output in December has dropped by more than 2.44% year-on-year.

The country has witnessed the lower production of sugar along with the lower production of rubber, petroleum and other commodities.

Thongchai Chawalitpichet, the official attached with the ministry said that the efforts taken by the government to contain the Covid-19 infection would help in increasing the manufacturing production index (MPI) in January.
