Sugar output in Ukraine has crossed 562.3 thousand tonnes by crushing 4.20 million tonnes of sugar beet till October 23, informed the Ukrtsukor National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine.
Total 29 sugar refineries across the country participated in the sugar beet processing. The sugar refining season in Ukraine began on August 21 this year.
As per the data released by the Economy Ministry, Ukraine is likely to produce 1.4 million tonnes of sugar this season.
According to the media report, in 2020, total of 30 sugar refineries participated in the beet refining season that began on September 5 and produced 1.1 million tonnes of sugar. This is 25 per cent less than the previous season.
