Sugarcane crushing season in Uttar Pradesh is in the final phase with the total sugar output touched around 100 lakh tonnes. The sugar output for the ongoing season is lower compared to the previous season.
As per the government data, the mills in the state have produced 99.22 lakh tonnes of sugar by crushing 979.61 lakh tonnes of sugarcane till May 2, 2022. Last season the mills had produced 110.59 lakh tonnes of sugar by crushing 1027.50 lakh tonnes of cane.
The mills have so far cleared cane bills around Rs. 23815.42 crore which is 73 per cent of the total dues.
The mills have almost made 100 per cent cane payment of the last season and asked to pay this season’s dues in time.
