Jakarta, Indonesia: According to the Agricultural Ministry, sugar production in Indonesia is likely to reach 540,000 during the June-August period.
Kasdi Subagyono, the ministry’s director-general of plantation, said, “The increased sugar production will help to meet the domestic demand. During March to May, there was limited sugar production that led to a hike in the commodity price. The increase in sugar production will help in a sugar price drop.
The sugar price is already lowering as sugar production has entered its peak season.
The Agricultural ministry is taking efforts to regularise the sugar prices ensuring that the consumers won’t face any problem in getting the commodity in the market.
