Sugar prices went down by Rs 70 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following abound availability of stocks on consistent supplies amid limited offtake.
Marketmen said ample stocks on increased arrivals from mills amidst selective buying by stockists and bulk consumers such as soft-drinks and ice-cream makers mainly pulled down sweetener’s prices.
Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices declined by Rs 70 each to finish the day at Rs 3,350-3,520 and Rs 3,340-3,510 per quintal.
Sugar spot M-30 and S-30 prices also dropped by Rs 50 each to end the day at Rs 3,650-3,800 and Rs 3,640-3,790 per quintal.
In the mill gate section, sugar Mawana, Kinnoni, Asmoli, Budhana, Thanabhavan, Dhanora, Simbholi, Khatuli and Malakpur slackened by Rs 70 each to conclude at Rs 3,400, Rs 3,520, Rs 3,460, Rs 3,370, Rs 3,360, Rs 3,460, Rs 3,450, Rs 3,460 and Rs 3,350 per quintal, respectively.
