Sugar output in Maharashtra continues to increase every day as the mills are active in cane crushing operations.
The mills in the state have till December 26, 2021, produced 413.83 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 431.06 lakh tonne sugarcane with a recovery rate of 9.60 per cent. Total 188 sugar mills including 95 cooperative mills and 93 private mills have participated in the cane crushing operations.
Solapur division is leading in the state with maximum (43) mills participating in the cane crushing operations. The mills in the region have so far produced 89.72 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 103.23 lakh tonne sugarcane with a recovery rate of 8.69 per cent.
Kolhapur division is leading in the state in terms of sugar production with a more than 10 per cent recovery rate. The mills from the region have produced 114.77 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 105.22 lakh tonne sugarcane with a recovery rate of 10.91 per cent.
