New Delhi: On Wednesday morning, sugar stocks saw an upward trend, with several companies registering gains by 11:15 AM. Leading the pack was Magadh Sugar & Energy Ltd., which rose by 5.82%. Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd. followed with a 4.36% increase. KCP Sugar & Industries Corporation Ltd. saw a 2.35% gain, and Mawana Sugars Ltd. climbed 2.07%. Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd. also recorded a rise of 2.05%, reports The Economic Times.
Other gainers included KM Sugar Mills Ltd., up 1.96%, DCM Shriram Industries Ltd., up 1.82%, Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd., up 1.53%, Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd., up 1.51%, and Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd., which rose by 1.42%.
However, not all sugar stocks performed well. Rana Sugars Ltd. faced a significant drop, falling by 7.33%, while EID Parry (India) Ltd. slipped by 1.24%.
Meanwhile, the broader market indices were also on the rise. The NSE Nifty50 index gained 20.55 points, reaching 25,038.3, and the BSE Sensex increased by 71.87 points, standing at 81,783.63.
