Sugarcane crop in Dhauradam infected due to Pocca Boeing

Kichchha, Uttarakhand: Sugarcane farmers in the Dhauradam region are worried as their cane crops have been infected by Pocca Boeing disease which has affected the crop yield, reports Live Hindustan.

Sugarcane is the major crop grown in the region and the spread of disease in the region would affect the economy of the region.

The disease grows in three stages and damages the crop yield. Parvinder Singh, former sarpanch of village Bakhpur said that the farmers have informed the concerned authorities and are waiting for the government’s help to tackle the situation.
