Sao Paulo: Sugarcane crushing in the centre-south region of Brazil has increased by 2.5% to 39.49 million tonnes in the first half of September compared to the same period during the previous season, as per the industry group Unica.
The ethanol production was up 2% to 2.12 billion litres and the sugar output was increased by 12.2% to 2.86 million tonnes in the same period. Unica’s ethanol data also includes fuel made from corn.
