Kundal (Sangli): Krantiagrani Dr G D Bapu Lad cooperative sugar mill has kickstarted the sugarcane crushing operations for the 2022-23 season, reports Agrowon.
The inauguration of the crushing operations was done in the presence of Girish Chitale, head of Chitale Group, MLA Arun Lad and other dignitaries.
The efforts taken by the sugar mill have helped in lowering the expenses of cane farmers and increased their income, said Chitale on the occasion.
“Government should hike the rate of ethanol and sugar so that we would be able to pay high cane price to farmers,” Lad said.
