PUNE: A ministerial meeting to decide the start date of Maharashtra’s sugarcane crushing season for 2023-24 was postponed again on Wednesday, reported The Indian Express.
Unlike Karnataka, the state government decides the start of the crushing season during which an overview of the sugar sector is also taken.
This important meeting is presided over by the Chief Minister and comprises presence of ministers responsible for cooperation, agriculture, and finance, alongside representatives from both cooperative and private sugar mills.
