Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers agitating under the banner of Bhartiya Kisan Union (Lok Shakti) outside the Dhampur sugar mill premises called off their protest after the mill administration assured them to clear the pending cane arrears by November 30.
Farmers had launched agitation outside the mill premises to demand their cane arrears for the crushing season 2019-20. Farmers’ organizations were demanding that the mill should clear their dues immediately. They also demanded that the mill administration should provide them sugarcane receipts manually instead of sending via SMS.
