Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers are now raising their voice against the pending cane arrears. All the political parties including Congress, SP, BSP, Rashtriya Lok Dal, Bhartiya Kisan Union and other farmers’ organizations have launched an attack against government over cane arrears issue.
BKU workers have launched indefinite agitation at Budhana demanding pending cane arrears along with interest. They said until sugarcane arrears issue doesn’t get resolved their agitation will continue.
According to the state government, the government has already taken the issue on priority basis and numbers of sugar mills have cleared pending arrears fearing government’s action. The mills claim that due to coronavirus and low sugar sales, they are facing a financial crisis and are unable to clear the cane dues.
