Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh: The sugarcane farmers from the regions have warned the sugar millers to clear the cane arrears within 15 days and have threatened to launch an agitation if the mills fail to clear the dues.
The farmers under the banner of BKU Loktantrik have appealed sugar mills to clear sugarcane arrears.
Addressing the gathering of farmers organized by the association at Natveer Puliya, Rajvardhan Singh Raju, youth wing head of the organization said, “Sugarcane farmers are facing problems due to coronavirus and the attack of swarms of locusts. They are in dire need of financial support. Therefore sugar mills should clear the pending arrears.”
“A letter has also been given to District Magistrate in this regard. If mills fail to clear the dues within 15 days then we will state a demonstration, ” he further added.
