Amroha: Sugar mills in Amroha have cleared cane dues amounting to Rs 1262.93 crore to the cane farmers as against the total dues of Rs 1433.79 crore which is around 88% of the total dues, reports Univarta.
The mills have also paid a sugarcane development contribution of Rs 16.89 crore out of Rs 16.89 crore which is 67.20% to the cane farmers.
District collector Balakrishna Tripathi convened a meeting to review the situation of the payment of cane dues in the district on Tuesday and directed the sugar mills to clear all the remaining dues in time.
He has asked the officials to ensure that the sugar mills clear cane dues to the farmers in time.
He also reviewed the preparations done for the next crushing season and issued instructions to the concerned authorities to speed up the work regarding this.
