Karnal: Cooperative Minister Dr. Banwarilal met with a delegation of sugarcane farmers associated with Assandh sugar mill on Friday, assuring them of the government’s commitment to their welfare. He promised to prioritize the resolution of all problems faced by the farmers, reported Amar Ujala.
The farmers, led by BJP state spokesperson Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, had approached the minister to express their concerns about the frequent disruptions in the operation of the sugar mill. Dr. Chauhan urged Dr. Banwarilal to intervene in the interest of the farmers.
In a memorandum submitted to the minister, they demanded that the sugarcane from the mill be diverted to the mills in Karnal, Panipat, Kaithal, and Jind.
The meeting was attended by Krishan Bhukkal Moonak, Bijender Rana Salwan, Captain Vikram Singh, Amarish Master, Suresh Gujjar, Vikas Duhan, Raju Balla, and other representatives of the sugarcane farmers.
