Meerut: A delegation of farmers under the banner of the Bhartiya Kisan Union Meerut met with District Cane Officer Dr. Dushyant Kumar in Meerut on Tuesday to demand sugarcane payment and a change of sugarcane weighing center, reported Live Hindustan.
District President Anurag Chaudhary said that the sugarcane payment for last year has not yet been made to the farmers by Kinauni Sugar Mill. The DCO assured the farmers that the dues would be paid this week.
The farmers also demanded a change of sugarcane weighing center, saying that there are a lot of irregularities in sugarcane weighing at many sugarcane centers. They asked the DCO to accept all the proposals for changing the sugarcane center through sugarcane committees and send them to Lucknow.
DCO Dr. Dushyant Kumar assured the farmers that their all demands would be taken care of soon.
The delegation included Harsh Chahal, Vice President Bablu Sisaula, Monu Tikri, Vinod Dalmpur, Ashok, Daroga ji, Vipul, Vinay, Subash, Arvind, Harpal, etc.
