Doiwala: Sugarcane farmers have begun protests against the state government over not announcing the sugarcane purchase price for the ongoing crushing season, according to livehindustan.
Farmers gathered at the gate of the Doiwala sugar mill on Wednesday and began their protest against the government by burning the effigy of the state government.
The sugarcane price for this season has not been announced in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand so far and the season is about to conclude.
Farmers demanded the government to take immediate steps and announce the cane price for this season else farmers would intensify their agitation, said the agitating farmers.
