Amaravati: Sugarcane growers held demonstrations outside the sugarcane commissioner office in Tadepalli in Amaravati for their pending cane arrears from the last two years. The farmers have also demanded interest of 15 per cent on their pending arrears.
The farmers have also demanded Rs 4000 per ton of sugarcane for season 2019-20. They urged to revise the advisory price and pay additional Rs 500.
The farmers alleged that the government is not following the Sugarcane act 1964, which emphasises on clearing dues of sugarcane in stipulated 15 days.
