Chandigarh: New agriculture policy to be released on June 30 will help in resolving the issues of farmers, said Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, reports The Tribune.
The new policy is being formulated after taking suggestions from farmers, experts, farm leaders, people and representatives of different sections, he said.
In response to the farm leaders’ demand for the release of pending payments from sugar mills, Minister confirmed that the dues would be disbursed to sugarcane growers in the near future. Following a meeting with the Chief Minister, the necessary steps are being taken to ensure timely payment to the farmers.
