Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: Payments for sugarcane farmers in Uttar Pradesh are likely to top Rs 36,000 crore during the 2023-24 crushing season, which began on October 1, reported Business Standard.
Despite the annual sugar season officially commencing on October 1, crushing activities are poised to pick up pace in the weeks to come, commencing in Western UP and gradually extending across the entire state.
As per news report published in Business Standard, sugar industry official said, “Sugarcane payments in Uttar Pradesh during the current crushing season are expected to top Rs 36,000 crore.”
