Salem: During his visit to Salem on Sunday, Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Tamil Nadu Minister of Youth Welfare and Sports Development, announced plans to establish a sugar mill in Omalur, reported The Hindu.
Elaborating on the electoral pledges for setting up the Omalur Assembly constituency, Udhayanidhi outlined initiatives aimed at enhancing the area’s infrastructure and services. These include initiatives to reclaim encroached land to restore water to lakes, the establishment of the sugar mill in Omalur, upgrading the Kadayampatti primary health centre to a taluka hospital, widening the Kanavaipudur – Yercaud road via Kannapadi, and the establishment of a government agriculture college in Danishpet.
