Technical upgradation of Morna sugar mill on cards

Muzaffarnagar : The government has cleared the technical up-gradation of the Morna sugar mill, estimated to cost ₹88 crore, reports Amar Ujala.

This up-gradation will benefit about 15,000 farmers from 38 villages in the area. The Uttar Pradesh government sanctioned the modernization of cooperative sugar mills. The decision was taken in a meeting presided over by Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh.

Farmers from 38 villages are connected to the Morna mill, and there has been a long-standing demand for its expansion. During a recent visit to Mirapur, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hinted at improvements for the mill. Additionally, the Bijnor MP, who was a former MLA from Mirapur, had also raised the issue of the mill’s expansion during the budget session.
