Sangareddy: Health Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha announced that the State government is set to establish a committee, led by Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, to facilitate the reopening of Nizam Sugar Factories in the State, reported Telangana Today.
The minister disclosed this information while addressing farmers during the Bhumi Puja ceremony for a new private sugar factory initiated by Ganga Agro Products Private Limited in Matur, Raikode Mandal, on Friday.
Minister Narasimha emphasized that the revival of Nizam Sugar Factories would alleviate the difficulties faced by farmers who currently transport their harvested sugarcane from the Zaheerabad area to other locations for processing.
He noted the challenges faced by sugarcane cultivators in selling their produce after the closure of Trident. In a bid to support these farmers, the State government plans to implement a drip system with subsidy.
In addition, Minister Narasimha urged Ganga Agro Industries, the entity establishing the new sugar factory over 12 acres in the region, to prioritize the employment of residents. The anticipated commencement of operations for the sugar factory is expected within a year.
