According to Vietnam’s Office of the Cane and Sugar Board, Thailand’s 2023-24 sugar production from Dec-Mar was 8.75 MMT, above a Feb estimate from the Thai Sugar Millers Corp for sugar production of 7.5 MMT.
Earlier, Wilmar, a commodities trader based in Singapore stated that sugar crops in India and Thailand are showing promising signs in the final stages of sugarcane harvesting, indicating a rise in sugar supplies in the region
Wilmar had anticipated that sugarcane crushing in Thailand would reach up to 85 million metric tons, resulting in sugar production ranging from 8.5 to 9 MMT.
