Amroha, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane crops in the district are infected with the top borer disease and this has increased worries of cane farmers as it would affect the productivity of the crop, reports Live Hindustan.
Sugarcane cultivation is the main crop cultivated in the district and the area under cane cultivation is around one lakh hectares. As the rainy season has begun the top borer insects have started attacking cane crops in the district. The sugarcane department has launched a drive to spread awareness among farmers about the disease and the officials are guiding them to use insecticides to bring in control the spread of the disease and lower loss of sugarcane crops.
