Toyota to showcase first flex-fuel-powered car in India on September 28

Toyota will be launching its first flex-fuel-powered car in India on September 28, reports Autocarpro.

The inauguration of the launching programme will be done by the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in Delhi. The minister had earlier spoken at the 63rd annual session of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) on September 14 stating that he would unveil the first flex-fuel car in India.

The latest generation of the Corolla sedan will be showcased in India which has Toyota’s 2.0-litre petrol engine and is capable of running on E85 ethanol.

Brazilian Ambassador to India, Andre Aranha Correa Do Lago at the SIAM annual convention stated that Brazil will work with India on flex-fuel technology.

The South American nation has been a leader in flex-fuels and using ethanol-based vehicles since the 1970s.
